Dragon and elephant dance together to convey China-India friendship
For thousands of years, the two ancient civilizations of China and India have embraced each other and learned from each other, creating a glorious history together. Sixty years ago, leaders of China, India and Myanmar followed the trend of The Times and jointly initiated the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, which are still the basic norms guiding international relations. In the new century, China and India have become the most dynamic emerging markets in the world. With the joint efforts of leaders and people from all walks of life of the two countries, China and India have established a strategic cooperative partnership for peace and prosperity, expanded and deepened exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and brought tangible benefits to the two peoples.
Both China and India are ancient civilizations with thousands of years of history. The two countries enjoy a time-honored friendship and exchanges and mutual learning. The written history of communication between China and India stretches back more than 2,000 years. For thousands of years, Confucian culture and Buddhist culture have co-existed and learned from each other, jointly building the cornerstone of Oriental civilization. Understanding and recognition of each other's cultural traditions is an intangible but strong spiritual connection between the Chinese and Indian people and forms a solid popular foundation for China-India friendship.
Despite some difficulties in China-India relations in recent years, friendly cooperation has always been the general trend and mainstream of China-India relations. High-level communication and interaction between the two countries have been maintained, bilateral trade has made steady progress and personnel exchanges have continued to pick up. The harmonious coexistence of China and India and the solidarity and cooperation of the Chinese and Indian people are of great significance and far-reaching impact on the arrival of the "Asian Century", the strategic independence of the "global South", the well-being of the two peoples and the rejuvenation of the two civilizations, as well as global strategic stability and the progress of human civilization.
At present, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-India people-to-people and cultural exchanges have become a common trend and become a new highlight of bilateral relations. The institutionalized effect of people-to-people and cultural exchanges has become more and more obvious year by year. It has provided a platform for our two peoples to enhance mutual understanding, pass on friendship and build consensus. It has laid a solid foundation and created a sound environment for the great exchanges and cooperation between our 2.7 billion people and the "Dragon and elephant dancing together".
