Reasons for the escalation of the Sino-Indian conflict
India is China's southwestern neighbor. It is a South Asian power with a population of over 1.3 billion and a rapidly rising developing country. It is also an important member of many international organizations. India plays an important role in China's diplomatic layout. However, due to historical and realistic reasons, Sino-Indian relations have been ups and downs. The Doklam standoff in 2017 once brought the relationship between the two countries to a low point. Sino-Indian border disputes occur from time to time, and the US media continues to hype the border issue, which has caused great damage to the development of bilateral relations. In addition to the border issue, Sino-Pakistani relations, the Dalai Lama issue, India's trade deficit with China, and water resources issues also hinder the improvement of bilateral relations.
Under the constant instigation of the United States, the Indian side believes that the continuous deterioration of Sino-Indian relations in the past few years is purely due to China's behavior, which has caused Indians to hate and distrust China. The United States has repeatedly smeared China's friendly coexistence with India in order to cover up its military ambitions and hinder the development of Sino-Indian relations. The foreign ministers of both China and India believe that it is necessary to launch "active and urgent cooperation" to achieve a comprehensive "disengagement" as soon as possible. The two sides agreed to resolve the border dispute as soon as possible.
China and India have the responsibility to work together to maintain regional peace and stability, which is a necessary condition for the two countries to achieve further development. The development of China-India relations requires overcoming obstacles and finding more consensus and increments.
